On Tuesday my number port from Voxi to EE appeared to complete okay. I was surprised to see today that Voxi had renewed my deal for another month. I logged in to Voxi and saw that my account was still active. I put the Voxi SIM card in a spare phone and found I could use it to make a call on. This meant I had 2 phones with the same number both apparently working properly.

I contacted Voxi and they agreed to refund the charge and advised me to turn off auto renew. I thought I would just let the month expire on the Voxi SIM and that would be the end of it.

My main phone is an iPhone and the spare is an Android phone. This brings me to the purpose of this post. The iPhone can receive and send iMessages and plain text messages but RCS messages only go to the Android phone. If I send a message to someone with an Android phone from my iPhone, the reply goes to the Android phone only.

Does anyone know how I can sort this mess please?

I can certainly see that this is a problem for you

A bit of Googling suggests it's a situation called an "incomplete port" and you need (in your case) to contact EE about it

I’ve spoken to EE a couple of times about the problem but they say it’s Voxi’s fault for not disabling their SIM. Likewise VOXI lay the fault at the gaining network.

A split port is always the responsibility of the gaining provider to rectify, not the losing provider.

I moved from three to 1P/EE ported my number, I had the same both Sims still worked and I was told to wait it can take up to 48 hours for the transfer to complete, it sorted itself out some hours later when the old SIM lost signal on Three

I spent 2 hours on the phone to EE this morning gradually moving up levels of support. In the end I had to leave it with them to sort out hopefully by early next week.

They seem to have fixed over the weekend. The old sim is dead and I am able to receive messages from Android phones.
