Hi al. I am receiving DLA, IB and IS to pay mortgage interest payments. I thought if you were on DLA etc you would get a £10 Xmas bonus, which so far I have not received. `Who would I contact, DLA or IB? I know it's only £10 but I could do with it! Thanks

You should have had a letter saying that £10.00 was going into your account.They were recieved a couple of weeks ago now.I would do as Wolfhouse says and ring up the D.L.A asap. Hope that helps.

I never had a letter, but the £10 was paid into my account.
If you are ringing them up then it may help to know that in some cases staff are at their desks between 7:30-8 am & you can get more chance of getting through if you phone early enough.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Yeah I would definitely ring up, it's odd that they haven't paid it you. I got mine a couple of weeks ago, as did my mum and brother. H x:heart: Think happy & you'll be happy :heart:

Is it only for higher rate DLA or does the lower rates qualify for the £10 bonus?" The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

The £10.00 Christmas bonus is normally paid automatically to anyone who is in receipt of at least one of a variety of benefits including Attendance Allowance, Disability Living Allowance, Incapacity Benefit (long term rate), Retirement Pension, etc.
A couple (married or unmarried) may receive two payments where both are entitled to a payment of a qualifying benefit.
An additional bonus may be paid for a married or unmarried partner provided:they are both over pensionable age by the end of the relevant week;
the couple are living together as husband and wife; and either,
the customer is entitled to a payment of an increase of the qualifying benefit for the other member of the couple; or
the only qualifying benefit is Income Support.

If you are on IS aswell as DLA it usually goes onto the DLA payment before Christmas (only one payment is made per family, regardless of how many benefit types received) I have known cases where people have not had the payment, sometimes there is confusion as to if DLA or IS has paid it. I also have know people to get 2 then them recover the payment later.One day I might be more organised...........

It should be DLA that pay it as claiming IS does not entitle you to the Christmas Bonus0 -

This bit is wrong. Each person living in the household will receive the Christmas Bonus provided they are each on a qualifying benefit.Between two evils, I always pick the one I never tried before0
