    I used to use spreadsheet but earlier this year I started with “youneedabudget”
    it’s about £85.00 per year subject to exchange rates but it’s simple, imports transactions from the bank and you create the monthly expense needed including “true expenses”
    not everyone would be happy to pay annual fees but I find it really helpful.
    I started using YNAB in 2014, before they required a subscription but then moved to the newer version with the annual payment. I wasn't in debt before starting but it has helped me to save a lot and organise the money much better. I do it all manally rather than importing transactions from the bank. I don't think FD would let me do that I prefer the manual way.
