I have had a barclaycard since 1990 but now I am unable to verify my online payments because Barclaycard will not permit me to register my card with their App and Visa changing their rules has left me in a hole.
    ...
Are there any credit card companies that allow joint credit cards or at least provide an easy way for the authorised card holder as well as the main card holder to make on line payments via an app or OTP texts?

We’ll send you a one-time verification code to your UK mobile number, which you then enter into the verification screen to confirm it’s you.

I don't understand - what's the problem? All cardholers have their personal phone numbers registerd at Barclaycard.

Barclaycard do not allow me to verify an online payment by OTP.

There is no such thing as a joint credit card. You can only have an account holder and additional users.

it is the account holder who is responsible for all the spending on them and therefore are the only one who can verify payments.

it is annoying as we are in the same position. I don’t know why the banks can’t do joint credit cards as they are no different to joint bank accounts, or at the very least allow the additional user to verify payments provided it is their card they are authorising

not sure what you mean though about online payments as my other half has their own card ( but I am the account holder ) and they can use their card anywhere including online but cannot verify online transactions by OTP.
What I mean is that I can use my card with my pin in a shop to buy say a £1000 TV but not online to pay £200 for car insurance.
I  still don't understan why you cannot. What's the problem?

I thought it was obvious.  OP states there is no option to register for 2FA for a second user card and the system insists on authorising an on line transaction.

I would get main card holder to request them to add the phone number for additional user. If they say they can not. Then it's complaint time.

The OP said something about the app, but this is not the only way of 2FA. I posted a link explaining that this can be done by a SMS. I have 2 additional cardholders with Barclaycards and all three of us have different phone numbers registered with Barclaycard. I can easily change the numbers online.

Barclaycard do not allow me to verify an online payment by OTP.
Sorry, I missed this. Does this mean that the only option is in-app authorisation? It's time to complain then.
That said, I don't remember whether I was ever asked to authorise a Barclaycard transaction.
