Refund on Cancelled Event - Section 75

I’ve never actually had to go through this before but I had some queries due to a cancelled Event.
What happens if they now refund me the funds but without the booking fees?
Tickets were purchased through The Ticket Sellers for an event to take place on 30th April. The event published on 14th April that they were cancelling. This was very annoying as they did the same last year but I rolled my tickets over.
I’ve been emailing back and forth (annoyingly can’t phone) trying to get this refund. In the end they stopped replying to me so I let them know I’ll invoke the process with my credit card company to get the funds back. I trawled through their normal and promoter Ts and Cs and asked lots of questions so probably didn’t like it. I assumed this is why it was taking so long.

I submitted my claim on Friday and it was approved today, super shocked at how quick it was (thank you Tesco).
I’ve also received an email this afternoon from The Ticket Sellers saying they are aiming to refund in two weeks (subject to their Ts and Cs). I claimed on section 75 because I was worried about the event actually having money. This has strengthened my thoughts because I was told in my email today that the event is ‘checking on their insurance policy for cancellations’.
The terms and conditions show that they don’t refund booking fees (which works out to £24) - even when event is cancelled but I’ve been told that I’m getting the full refund from Tesco.
A few questions:
What happens if they now refund me the funds but without the booking fees?
I suspect they’ll challenge this. Tesco said they have 45 days to do so.
If I receive the refund can I challenge the difference in booking fees with Tesco?
Hope it all makes sense and I’m just confused. I just want this all sorted.

S75 and Chargeback are two separate things and so you need to be clear which you are doing... it sounds like a chargeback despite the topic title.
Presumably you bought through an agent rather than directly with the event organiser? How much was each ticket?
You can challenge the fees but if you booked via an agent that stated fees are non-refundable your prospects wouldnt be great0 -

if they have 45 days to challenge it then it us a chargeback and can be reversed if they challenge it,

So to help tell exactly what Tesco are doing.
How much were the tickets? Not the total price. Each ticket price please.
If it is a chargeback & ticket sellers refund, then your chargeback should be rejected by them.Life in the slow lane0 -

Should this be the case, we'll be in touch to explain the next steps.

@LunaAndBelle - did you specifically tell Tesco you wanted to make a s75 claim, or did you just tell them you wanted a refund?
If Tesco had actually processed and paid a s75 claim I would have advised you to contact The Ticket Sellers and tell them that your bank had refunded you under s75.
However, as it seems it must have been a chargeback you need to wait 45 days to see if The Ticket Sellers challenge it.
(please let us know if they do challenge it and what happens next)0 -
