As above, what happened? Unless there was a screw missing or something, the only way I can think a coaxial socket would snap off is if excessive force were applied or the coaxial cable was pulled or under tension when the TV was moved or the cable was tripped over, or something like that. If it was accidental damage like that, then it wouldn't be covered by warranty or consumer rights. If there's a fundamental flaw in the construction or material, then you are in different territory.0

£300 to replace a coax socket ?0

Depends on why it snapped. If you’ve damaged it, you need to bear the costs. Although you can probably have it repaired cheaper with an independent company. As above though, did you purchase from Samsung direct? As that’s important to establish who your rights (if any) are with.0

As others have said, your consumer rights are against who you bought it from, not the manufacturer.samsungbob said:Had a Samsung TV and the aerial connection in the TV snapped within 6 days of usage. Samsung answer! £300 repair charge as it’s not covered!! 6 days life? Really!
If you did buy it from Samsung have you explained that you are not relying on their warranty, but on your consumer rights?
(If an item fails within 6 months of delivery the law basically presumes it was faulty when bought unless the seller can prove otherwise - the "reverse burden of proof". Of course that doesn't apply if it broke because of misuse or accidental damage)0 -
Sorry for this but, I can't imagine how an aerial socket can break after 6 days use of the T.V..T.V. in situ or almost, aerial plugged in, watch T.V.. Unless the T.V. has been repeatedly moved and/or the aerial unplugged and refitted, without due care, I don't see how there's any sort of claim for repair. The socket doesn't just break for no reason?Presumably this is the co-axial cable socket?0

" Snapped" would imply some strain was put on it.0

"I broke my new TV, the repair cost is £300" would have perhaps been a more honest opening post.4

I think I have "used" my aerial connector 3 times in the last 10 years.
Please tell us what you were doing when the fracture occurred.

A wild guess as to cause. TV wall mounted and pushed back too far. Pressure applied to the coax cable stressing coax connection on TV.
