Hello I am currently with Plusnet mobile. I've heard they may be closing soon, so I'm looking to move elsewhere. My first thought was to go back to Sky or Tesco but have been reading bad things about the O2 network, So I'm thinking of trying Talkmobile on the Vodafone network. Does anyone have any good/bad thing to say about TM ?
I've just been on their live chat for quite a while and got no reply, which is not a good sign.
I wanted to ask them if it would be possible to port my old number a month or more after joining or whether it had to be done at the initial stage of joining.
Thanks for any input, cheers

You'll be able to port your number to them at any point you like after you have joined them, just use the SIM the send you which will have its own number and when you are ready, give them the PAC code from Plusnet in order to transfer your number to them.
Of course, you'll need to keep your Plusnet account active until the PAC code is used and a PAC code lasts about a month.
My only experience of TalkMobile is that I tried to join them a year or three ago and failed because their systems wouldn't let me - some weird thing about my address and my bank account which I've never had with anyone else before or since.
As you are leaving Plusnet, who use the EE network, I'd recommend 1p mobile who are really good in my experience. Take a look at their website and the review on the SimSherpa website. They'll give you wi-fi calling too which can be useful if you are staying in a rural location with no mobile signal but can access broadband/wi-fi2 -
@Murmansk thanks very much for the reply and for answering my question regarding moving my number. The site SimSherpa is very in depth and helpful.
!pmobile on EE is an interesting choice I will certainly bear it in mind.
Over the years I've been with many providers but never Vodafone, hence looking at Talkmobile on a 30 day contract.
Thanks for your help and advice0 -
I've had no issues with Talkmobile but they no onger offer included roaming on new contracts if that is important to you. Lebara is an option using Vodafone's signal - again, I've had no issues at all with them.1

@flashg67 thanks for that info. The roaming doesn't bother me, however there are 4 of us looking to leave Plusnet, so it might matter to the others, cheers0
