Quite possibly you can do HSBC & FD switches (even though they say you can’t, it doesn’t seem to be that strict even within the time frame)

As above, HSBC have a reputation for being picky about who they take as customers, and FD have a reputation for having long memories... I've seen people say they've gotten a FD incentive after previously having held an account, but that is for people who have held really old accounts in the past (I'm talking decades) rather than just 2 years prior. By all means try, but I definitely wouldn't expect to get it.

OK guys, I've never been a First Direct customer, but I opened a HSBC Advance account in March 2021 and received a switch bonus for it. Then switched away in Dec 2021.

Are you saying getting a switch bonus from First Direct is still possible? But how likely... Is it worth possibly waste the only chance? Or better to wait a year or so, until they change the cut off date?

I'm another one who's had 2 bonuses off them, but the second one unintentionally since I was trying to play by the rules since I knew I'd already got it the first time.  The second one was just the welcome bonus, which you're not supposed to get if you've previously had a switching incentive.  Initially it's a nice surprise to see, but then you start thinking "Darn I could've got the larger switching incentive a second time if I'd have known!"

I'd wait a year or two until they change the HSBC cut off date - opening a FD account now will not get you an incentive as per the current terms, and will subsequently disqualify you in the future since you won't be a "new customer to FD, who has never held a FD product" anymore.
