I am going to order a sim (or two) using the MSE deal shown below at 1p for 30 days then 4.75 after so £2.38 a month for 3gb data,

I gather from other posts they the delivery time for sims are slow but network is O2 which is same as Sky and Tesco,  I was going to wait until the 31st May when the offer expires but seems best to order it asap.

Can anyone give any feedback of service?

TBH in the past I have not found Sky that hot (always trying to upsell me) and Tesco not great either, but neither were as bad as 3, ideally I never have to call them, I know Lyca Mobile do not do wifi calling (I don't use it)

I would not use Vodafone as they are cutting off 3g in June.

I may stay with current my supplier if they will match the Lyca Mobile deal (with account credit) as they have done in the past.  As it is a monthly contract and 1p a month it will just be a spare sim for 6 months if it is rubbish.

It's a one-month Sim, but to help you compare, the equivalent cost is calculated over a 12-month period

Comments

  • I ordered a couple of Lyca sims a few weeks ago, and they've been fine, with no problems at all. They arrived within a couple of days, by tracked delivery.

Having read some reviews of Lyca's customer service, I didn't entrust my main number to them, instead opting to port it to RWG.

Which is ironic really, as I've now been without a phone service on my main number for three days. But that's another story......

    Are there that many!
  • Day 7 without any phone service, although I can at least now receive texts.

RWG tell me that a server has gone down at BT, and that there's nothing anyone can do in the meantime.

I'm afraid that my number may have been lost forever, although RWG reckon that's not the case. But at the moment it's floating around somewhere between Plusnet and RWG, with no sign of being sorted anytime soon.

  • I've had a few "missed calls" texts from them when Ive been sitting beside the phone and it never rang. I suspect they have a limited capacity and at peak times they can't put calls through. Nice and cheap but Im thinking about paying a bit more for a better service.
  • Update: I can now make and receive calls and texts.
No internet, but at least we're moving in the right direction.
