Options on TV/ Broadband

I am currently paying £92.50 for Sky TV and Broadband (this is for the signature & HD pack ) and looking to save some money.

As I am at the end of my contract I can take out a new contract and pay £50.50 for broadband and TV however I am thinking of canceling the whole lot altogether but not sure what other options would be best.

I don't really want to spend any more than £40 per month for a HD TV service.

I've briefly looked at Now TV, Sky Stream TV , Sky Glass, Apple TV.

What would be the better and cheapest option for viewing live High definition TV programs with the option to watch programs aired on the same day after they have been shown?

My partner and I don't watch much TV only a few programs like Race across the World and Future food stars and our 5-year-old son mainly watch Youtube videos.

Glass requires a new TV (provided by Sky) so if you don't want that it can be discarded.

Freeview is free and you get a chunk of channels in HD already if you have a TV that's HD capable (it probably will be), and then you can supplement it with Now or Netflix or Prime.  Note that HD on Netflix is extra (or its on the £4.99 package if you put up with adverts), its extra on Now and its included in Prime as standard.

Solution depends on what you watch; the two you've listed are both on iPlayer.

How on earth were you paying £92.50 for b/band/Signature plus HD ?? Was this for a full fibre ultra high speed connection?

If you threaten to cancel TV package with Sky , you certainly should be able to negotiate Signature in HD for ~ £30pm but including b/band you will be struggling to get anywhere near £40 - more like £50--£55 pm

I've just agreed a new deal with Sky for Sig+Netflix+HD for £29 and 150Mbps FTTP from them for £28 so £57 a month.

Lord knows what the OP was getting for their price.

I am currently out of contract so the price has increased to £92.50 for Sky Ultra-broadband + Sig, HD, and Kids pack

I spoke to Sky yesterday and the cheapest they can offer is £50.50 for everything except the kids pack. I have Netflix a couple of years ago but my account was hacked so had to cancel it.

Try https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/compare-broadband-deals/?feature=socialtariffs for just broadband deals (at whatever speed & price suits you) and go Freeview as advised above. You could be paying around £20 a month instead of £90 odd.

You can set up a new Netflix account using a different email address.
