Just checked the smokeless coal prices and almost had a heart attack. I don't I'll be using my stove this winter again either  :open_mouth:

We have solid fuel heating . We also have electric heating. Both have gone up,and likely not to come down to the price they were. But we still have to stay warm! Food is expensive too.

“Won’t use my stove this winter again either” is like saying “ I won’t eat this Winter again either” !

Yup. I had a look at coal prices yesterday with the hope that it might have dropped back a little. Nope. Still looking at around £19 per bag (if anything, an increase from what I remember earlier in the year). On the plus side, I have a mountain of wood I can use, so I'm not going to freeze. Also have a shiny new gas boiler to supplement the stove.

Her courage will change the world.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

For the past few years I've bought a metric ton of smokeless fuel every summer from Housefuel, who have always been the cheapest - but not this year. The price has doubled in that short period and this year has rocketed up to over £600. I've stocked up with wood instead and will see if I can get by with that. I realise Housefuel don't make the product so it probably isn't their fault (I suspect it's CPL that makes the stuff I use) but I am not going to be ripped-off by companies exploiting the price of gas as an excuse to overcharge.
