OP does this account appear on your credit files or not ?
If it does, it should show the accounts status, if it says "default" what date is shown as the default date ?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. One of the requirements for removing an account from credit files is for it to be on the credit files.
Plus of course, she said it's on her credit files, albeit with an Antipodean inflection at the end.AmeliaJaneAgain said:
I don't want to just leave it, it's on my credit report?adamp87 said:Anymore details? Who was the original creditor what for and what date was the default?
Unless you know it isn’t yours I would leave it. It’s up to them to answer your request. There’s a few more stages to to it’s not a cut and dry case; they can find agreements and such.2 -

If it's approaching 6 years then there is little point in worrying about it now, and it doesn't appear to have impacted your creditworthiness thus far?
Also since we have people from both sides of the fence on this forum, do you genuinely recognize this debt or not? You are anonymous so please be honest.
Otherwise the first thing to think about is fraud (as if you don't know about it then maybe someone has imitated you and applied for credit in your name?).
Unless Sourcrates is right and it's not on your credit report - and is likely a tracing error by the DCA (has happened to me in the past also...).Know what you don't0
