Has anyone else received notice from Quote me happy to say that they can’t renew your home contents and building insurance as you no longer meet their criteria?
I have never made a claim and have been with them for 6 years, I have messaged them and still waiting for a reply!
It looks like they have changed their policy limits which still work for me, but they haven’t asked me or made contact except to say I need to look elsewhere!
Just wondering if this is happening across the board or just me!
Thanks

I used to manage a large Insurance companies Home Insurance renewals teams and can confirm that Insurers do review whether they can continue cover, with letters sent to those they can no longer Insure.

You can try to speak to some at Quote me happy to clarify exact reasons or see if their online quote system would allow you to take up a new policy.  It sometimes happens that Insurers refuse to offer renewal, as they have identified some policies they don't want to continue with, but they have not blocked new policies being arranged.

Is there a specific reason you wanted to stay with Quote me happy ?
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

I have emailed them to ask if they could tell me the reason but they don’t come back with any reason other than our underwriters have decided not to renew your policy?
I have never been refused insurance and do want to know why as I’m now concerned that a mark had been made against my name that I am not aware about.

I was happy with the cover and costs previously, but I will now look for other quotes, but I still can’t get a reason they haven’t offered me a renewal which is really not on in my opinion, as I have never claimed and I see my policy as a golden ticket for them!

You no longer fit their customer remit.  It's not personal.  Just move on.

It's a commercial decision, insurers are not required to and don't share commercial information with others other than the regulators (or their reinsurers in some cases).

Any answer you were to get is likely to be unfounded speculation from a contact centre agent, they too aren't told the reasons, their computers simply tell them answers which they blindly repeat to you.
