  • Well done on the progress, seem to be handling it great
  • Vanquis has slipped back a little due to a couple of spends. Not overly worried as its limit is only £250. The old card was cut up but the new one through the post survived the scissors. Inexplicably they are still not charging any interest.

I need to concentrate on the Capital One card for now. That seems a bit of a mountain at the moment.

    The latest 4-Debt Snowball :

    Payment Assist (£135) - £27 per month
    Vanquis (£222) - £15 per month
    Capital One (£549.50) - £28 per month + PAD
    TBI Financial (£514) - £9 per month

    Total : £79 per month + PAD
Leap Day 2024 - the day of freedom. The day my pernicious debts finally died.

    Legacy Default dates :
    Mr Lender - 31/10/2022
    Fund Ourselves - 22/12/2022
    Bamboo - 30/3/2023
    Likely Loans - 14/4/2023
  • Vanquis are now back to charging their most welcome 39.94% APR interest. I'll have to switch the PAD to Vanquis now and leave Capital One ticking over at £28 per month.

    4-Debt Snowball :

    Payment Assist (£135) - £27 per month
    Vanquis (£226.40) - £15 per month + PAD
    Capital One (£499.99) - £28 per month
    TBI Financial (£514) - £9 per month

    Total : £79 per month + PAD

Hi Sparks! You've made great progress and you've done brilliantly to get it down so rapidly. What's your situation? Are you working? Have family etc? The reason I ask is that I wonder if you might join some of the challenges on here to make extra money to help get things cleared down even faster?

I'm always in it, it's only the depth that varies....

    Thank you.

Yes, I'm working and spend a fair bit of time on the road due to my family situation. So very little free time at the moment, regretfully.

I've been reflecting on the past.

Very happy now that the years of 13 parallel revolving payday loans every month ( Wonga, Toothfairy, Lending Stream, Mr Lender, QuickQuid, Ferratum, Fernovo, Fund Ourselves, CashASAP, Uncle Buck, Payday Express, PaydayUK, SwiftSterling, Pixie, Cash4UNow, SafetyNet Credit. No doubt more I forget. A rogues gallery of sharks. ) are long gone. Tens of thousands of pounds in all. Some claimed back, some companies went bust before I could.

    A different more stressful existence.

Now just need to deal with the final consequences with this snowball.

4 months until the next debt falls away :)

More PADs to Vanquis. Nearly at zero balance. Card to be retained after that and used as a petrol payoff-every-month-er with a small £250 limit. Capital One will be closed on payoff.

  • 86p PAD to Vanquis.

Even small payments are a joy.
