  • You could stamp your foot about the money ... or how about trying a little charm across the Kent/Devon divide?

"Hi there, I rang yesterday checking on the amount going into my account. I realise you're probably really busy just now before the holidays, but it would be incredibly useful if I could know how much my final paycheck is for this morning. Would you be able to help me with this? (And leave LOTS of silence)."

Then you could move onto the issue of 'when'.

If she can't help with this, perhaps you could enlist one of the directors to help here? Realise they may be feeling odd about making you redundant just before Christmas, but if you're matter-of-fact about things, why not simply ask if they could call the accounts woman on your behalf as it would be 'ever so helpful' (& leave lots of silence). The accounts woman is probably more likely to help people who hire her than someone who she doesn't have to deal with in the future.

    Good luck!
  • Good luck - what a rubbish time for it all to happen...

On the bank charge basis - pretty sure that they can't make you sign to say you won't claim again - or that that isn't valid - thought the same but I have already claimed again... oops!!

    Good luck with all! xxx
