Delayed Flight Expenses

I had a flight cancellation and I was not given my bag back. I'm being offered under EU law the compensation and expenses for accommodation and food and transport to/from hotel, but should I be allowed toiletries? We were offered the opportunity to get our bags after 12 hours but with no guarantee they would make the new flight! Total delay was 24 hours!

was the hotel not able to provide toiletries? most do. You could submit the receipts for your toiletries with your other receipts and see what they say (it may delay your claim or it may just go straight through)

Sounds like the airline is fairly applying the regulations about flight delays and cancellations, but unfortunately those regulations don't include any obligation to reimburse such additional costs. However, airlines will generally have lost or delayed baggage policies, so you may be able to claim under that….
