Incoming moan about NS&I.
So, after the bank holiday weekend pause looks like the fix rates are on the move again. After the budget and media news reports about NS&I being asked to entice more money from the plebs I put in 100k in a easy access account expecting the saving rates would edge up a bit they still have not moved. (This money to be transferred to a 3 year fix)
Seems to me this institution is only worthwhile to those who have a few million quid to spare or those mortals who like a flutter on premium bonds.

It's Government owned/run. If your expecting agility, flexibility and generally being able to dynamically respond to changing market conditions you're looking at the wrong institution 🤣

It's Government owned and run By Atos. Double whammy incompetence factor.

The NS&I funding target increased by only 1.5bn - not that much in the scheme of things.

Why do you want to use NS&I though? Just avail yourself of the better rates available elsewhere.

I know this sounds like I’m Virtue signalling but I kinda like their green savings bond 3 year fix. Just don’t want to lock in now at currently 4.20% when tomorrow or the next day or even next week it could be 4.50%

This is from This is Money which is part of the Daily Mail.
It it therefore, by definition, untrue.

A bit like our country, unfortunately we have no one in or coming in to fix it.

I'm afraid in this case, it has merit.flaneurs_lobster said:
