Should I buy near 5G phone mast?

Dear all

We're getting to the final stages of buying a Victorian end of terrace house we really like, with good location and transport. But the searches have unfortunately turned up a potential 5G phone mast nearby!

The local Council refused permission, but the Telecoms operator have appealed - so it's out of the local Council's hands and awaiting a decision from the higher body.

The decision won't come for some months, and our sale won't wait. It's a 16-metre tall 5G "monopole": would be 125 metres away from us (although it looks closer on the street map that's the actual distance).

It won't be visible from any of the house windows or rear garden - possibly from the front garden/road, but even then unlikely.

Is it a bad idea? Will it affect long-term value of the house?

Thanks

Are you worried about health issues, or just resale values?

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

125m isn't "close" in an urban setting, especially if you can't even see it. That's pretty much the length of my street.

If it was plonked in the pavement beside your front gate I could maybe see the issue.

How far away would you have to live from a radio transmitter in order not to be concerned? Have you actually checked for any others? (e.g. I've got mobile antennae next door to me, but they're hidden inside a church tower)

Do you use a mobile phone?

The existing ones are 0.5km away or more...hence why they're sticking one here no doubt

And 500m is safe but not 125m?

The further the mast, the stronger the signal that everybody's phones have to pump out in order to connect to them...

I would have thought the availability of a 5G signal would actually ADD value to your house!

OK leaving aside health factors...have people experienced a hit in re-sale value when buying near a 5G mast?
