The confusion was caused  by the OP saying they claimed pension credit when they made the PIP
     Claim, which  is an Impossibility.

Yes the SDP will be backdated presuming the other criteria are met ....
Living alone or with another disabled person claiming a qualifying benefit and no one claiming CA or the carers element of UC

That's not impossible many people who are under 74 and still have DLA are now well over pension age and may well be on Pension Credit now they will at some stage be forced to claim PIP.

    Even more simple.
There is NO backdating on a DLA to PIP vlaim,, even on the outside chance that there are any 74 urate odds still waiting to be transferred

No, you cannot make a NEW claim for PIP if you are over State Pension Age - You have to claim Attendance Allowance instead.

People with an existing DLA/PIP award can continue with that award after SPA.
And existing DLA can be changed to PIP for someone over SPA, IF the DWP initiate that change.

That's not quite correct. If someone is claiming DLA and they reported changes, if they were born after 9th April 1948 then they will need to claim PIP. Which is what bigbill correctly pointed out https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/pip/before-claiming/if-you-get-dla/

Yes sorry, I was ignoring Changes of Circumstance there and just talking about the DWP 'invites'.
    From your CAB link:
Your DLA will end when the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) send you a letter asking you to claim PIP instead.

Then surely you would have already been entitled to the SDP, if you are in the Support Group (LCWRA) ?

Not without either a disability benefit award such as PIP daily living, DLA mid/high rate care or ADP daily living. Or they were registered blind. The OP didn't claim PIP until January 2023, therefore no entitlement to SDP. Being in the Support Group has nothing to do with entitlement to this.

         No.

        Read this:
       https://www.gov.uk/disability-premiums/eligibility  (easily found online).

Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.
