It should already be included in your Pension Credit calculation (although I'm not sure whether it's called the SDP or if it's something else).

You would, as long as no-one is paid Carer's Allowance for looking after you.

It should already be included in your Pension Credit calculation

It's not usually automatically paid so OP needs to claim it, if it's not included.

If I  were awarded SDP,would this be backdated to January (when I applied for pip) as my pip daily living has been ? thanks.

You need to be state pension age and above to claim pension credit. You said you only applied for PIP in January this year. You can only start a claim for PIP if under state pension age so i'm confused by your question about pension credit and SDP.

Pension credit can't be paid until you reach state pension age. For this reason it won't be backdated to the start of your PIP award (Unless you're currently claiming a qualifying means tested benefit that allows you to claim the SDP) such as, Income Related ESA/JSA or Income Support.

Then you'll need to contact ESA to ask to claim the SDP. If you had included that in your opening post we could have advised you correctly.

Point taken, as I said the DWP rang me to say I would be entitled to SDP, so would it be backdated ? thanks.
