Don't know the answer to your question but is there a reason that you don't want to buy from a local supplier who will know what will cope well in your area?

Sorry, can't comment on variety. I like the one we grow but I've no idea what it is

Do you have a local allotment site?

Mine currently has a number of crowns that were dumped by the hut, and I'm taking some to the plant library/exchange later.

I think I have Timperly Early as it always comes up quick in spring when there’s not much else around. I’d definitely go for an early variety.

Check over the Wilko crowns, give them a squeeze before buying. I have found some dried up & wizened ones there due to being in a warm shop for ages

You'll be lucky even then, three years with a good wind, and you may just get stringy sticks from seed

Even with a crown you won’t get rhubarb this year, you are supposed to leave them alone the first year.
