Thanks but don't want anything major undertaken. It's a garage so no problems with window frames below. I'll have a good look next time there's extended rainfall and fully assess whether I think there's any real benefit from a gutter solution.
I think one of the problems is that there's an awkward shape to the garage and rooline at this point and water is running along and down the barge board due to gravity and then dripping off at the point where the two barge boards meet as in this pic. So the spillage is a bit concentrated on the wall below that join.

I can see it better now in the new photo. You've got a squint angle at the corner. Is the water making the brickwork stained?0

The prevailing wind does blow the constant drip from that point back onto the wall below the board. I've occasionally fashioned a bit of flashing to act as a spout to take the water away from the wall. As you can imagine, it looks great!!!0
