Gutter solution

What would be the best way of extending the guttering from the end stop to run under the brown verge units? I have a union bracket and length of gutter but it seems as though it will need to drop down at quite an angle into where the stop end currently is. Any help gratefully received before pulling stuff out and drilling into the fascia.

Remove the end stop and short length of gutter

Insert new length of gutter and then fix the end stop to that,

Make sure there is a fall towards the outlet

You don't normally run a gutter up the barge board.

It just seems as though the angle where the new join is will be a bit steep causing it to be not so secure where the seal is as the new gutter has to run up quite steeply.

Gutters aren't designed to run at those angles. Why do you want a gutter up the verge?

Only because the outlet is leaning over.

Like the others say why do you think it's necessary to run a gutter where there will probably be no overspill

There seems to have been a lot of dripping water off the edge of the verge units down the barge board and then onto the wall as it's in the face of the frequent prevailing wind on a hill. Thought an extension of the gutter might help address this and channel much of this water away.

If you want to do this. I would extend the small section of gutter along the barge board, but keep the fall to the normal fall for a gutter (3-4mm per metre). I would tend run a long section of gutter from the top of the verge toward the bottom so that it empties into the short section as shown in the diagram below. If the roof is a duo-pitch and you need to overlap it this new gutter at the ridge, I have also shown how to do this. You don't need stop ends at the top of the run, but can add them for neatness. You might also consider using a smaller size of gutteing, such as that designed for sheds if you want to reduce the visual impact of it.

Thanks I'll have a think on this solution.

It's a lot more work, but building a gable ladder would extend the roof to clear any dripping water off your window frames.
