ESA not been paid. Has anyone else had delayed payment?

Hello I am on ESA (income related) and was expecting to be paid yesterday but have not been.
I am wondering if anyone else has had a delayed payment and what the reason may be. I am thinking maybe it could be the new cost of living payment delaying it or other reason, as I think I saw some have trouble around September COLP last year.
I really don't want to phone them up but likely will have to, but thought I'd ask here if anyone has encountered the same of possible could you let me know please. Thanks in advance.

Mine is showing as a pending payment to be paid tomorrow. It’s not due until Monday but as it’s a bank holiday I will get it tomorrow.Tesco: £1361.19, Vanquis: £2644.73, Very: £563.08, Next: £1636.95, M&S: £1049.92. As of 5th February 2024. Slava Ukraini1

The cost of living payment will not be any reason to delay paying anyone their usual benefits money. You should contact them and they will make a same day payment.

Hello thanks for the replies Poppy12345 and Bagpuss741.
I'm hoping it's just an error then.
Would they know if I went over the 6k savings limit temporarily? I don't know if they can see that but just paranoid about it now even though some of the money was from the other cost of living payments. Not sure when they judge that you've spent those and in any case it says it doesn't count towards the spending cap so may not have gone over at all.
Well seeing as I got £800 from colp total would you have a certain period that the savings allowance was £6800 now? May be misunderstanding it but hoping it didn't flag up or something?
I wouldn't have thought they'd stop payment altogether for that anyway.
Thank you.0 -

On ESA I had a delayed payment more than once. The only thing you can do is ring them - and yes you will spend ages on hold until they answer.Once you have talked to them, and if it is a mistake, they will do a 'Fast Payment' which will reach your bank in a couple of hours.0

Thank you Newxad and Bagpuss.
I still haven't rang them but will have to do so on Tuesday earliest now. I just was worried as I went temporarily over that 6k limit but don't know if they can see your bank account or not. In any case I thought it was just a sliding scale of deductions and not stopping esa completely. May just be a coincidence.
Apart from missing colp one time and a call to esa when I'd just got PIP (stopped as needed to check my details of entitled to SDP and was but wasn't as I don't live alone) that's all I've encountered. It's never been late before now.
I did see some posts from one of the COLP days in September (20th IIRC) and a few posts from people who said they had ESA stopped/ delayed those days so possibly the COLP messes with the system somehow. Big coincidence if not.
I wish I could just message online but will try and see on Tuesday. Takes me a while (days/ since wednesday) to decide and pysch myself up for making a call.

Thank you.I just re-read that. Are you saying that you didn't spend the Previous CoL payments and that has resulted in you having a balance of over £6K?
(not including this months payments). If that is the case then if it hasn't been spent it would now be savings, and so would reduce your benefits payments, It shouldn't stop them though until it reaches £16K.0 -
It's unlikely the COLP would have stopped ESA as all COLP were suspended on Friday. Nobody recieved one on Friday, more likely just delays caused by BH0

CoL payments are made using the 'Fast Payment' banking system. That is the same system used for making Bank Holiday Monday benefit payments on the preceding Friday. So there is no capacity for making CoL payments on the Friday before a BH Monday, and why no CoL payments were made yesterday.
(and now someone is going to say they got one yesterday - thats your bank not the DWP).0 -

Are you sure all CoL payments are made through the fast payment system? I agree that some are because for one of the payments last year i received it in my bank after 9am. For this years payment it went into my bank as a normal payment does (early hours of the morning) same for my daughters £301. I can't see they would make a FP during early hours of the morning lol.
