County Court Claim - UKPC / DCB Legal - KFC Newark - Discontinued

M1Kraken said:Hi, I'm in the middle of arguing about a pcn from the very same KFC Newark carpark for parking out of hours. It was exactly a year ago. I have made it clear I do not agree to any terms, conditions or consent. I had the offer of a mediator from the Northampton County Court business center which I accepted just to see what Dcb legal would say. I offered them a nominal £5 as a gesture without accepting any liability. Dcbl came back with £170! I told the mediator I will see them in court. Here's the thing, the signage as you turn into the carpark from the right was rotated away from the driver so the view of the sign was restricted on entering the carpark. Viewing it on Google maps shows it has been like that for a couple of years.....I went past it a couple of weeks ago and now the sign has been corrected. Surely that's an admission the signage was wrong?
Please do the Inquiry linked above which closes next week. All explained above.
And then start your own thread because you should not have agreed to Mediation and you need to focus instead, on WS & evidence stage.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

But like Coupon-mad said, I just followed the instructions here and said no to mediation, from what I can tell that just wastes more time and gives them an indication you're willing to settle, when you really shouldn't.1 -
Small update, I now have a letter from my local court, a notice of allocation to the small claims track, along with instructions on submitting my witness statement. I have until Feb 2nd to submit, I'll take some time in the next week or so to put this together.0

Hello everybody,
I have some good newsI was just beginning to read through all the witness statements on here and begin putting together my own. The amount of information was quite overwhelming and, as I have on a few occasions during this process, had to ask myself whether the paperwork headache was worth it. But today, that question was answered:
"Dear Matt...We act for the Claimant in the above matter.
Our client has instructed us to discontinue Court proceedings and close our file. Therefore, please find attached the Claimant’s N279 Notice of Discontinuance for your records.
The attached has also been filed with the Court.
We will now proceed to close our file accordingly.
Kind Regards,
Morgan Falconer
DCB Legal Ltd "
Thank you everyone, @Coupon-mad in particular, for answering any questions I had along the way. And to everybody that has contributed to such an incredible pool of information in this forum to help fight these claims.
I'm really happy I trusted the process and stuck it through this far.
Yeeeeehaaaaaaa!

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
