Just notified my travel insurance company of significant change in health. They have advised me that if unfit to travel I can claim cost of holiday back but I have been advised I’m fit to travel so the company has now cancelled my policy. I’ve read that you are able to claim against company for cost of new policy with another company. Any one know if this is correct please ?

    Welcome Maisie63,

the forum at MSE is vast and it can be difficult to find your way around initially. You’re post has ended up on the mortgage board. I will ask the forum team to move this to the insurance board, where you may be able to see similar threads. Also worth looking on the travel boards.

Did you already have the policy running? Or was this a new policy that you were taking out.

if the former I thought that they should offer you the cost of cancelling the holiday at this point if they decline cover. I may be wrong, but as an existing policy holder I thought that either they agree to maintain cover or they should pay the cost of cancelling. It may be that a third option of paying to get cover elsewhere is available.
