Court hearing date received, but now just need to pay amount instead - but how?

Hi

We've gone through all the steps to dispute a parking claim and have arrived at the point where last week we received a "Notice of Allocation to the Small Claims Track" letter, which is scheduled for the 2nd week of May.

Unfortunately, there is a lot going on at the moment, not least of which hosptial admission and surgey the day after the hearing and we have decided to just cut our losses and pay so it's one less thing to deal with.

However, I can't seem to see where to pay, or what process to follow, and would appreciate some guidance please?

I went to the MCOL site and clicked to view instructions to pay, but it just said to send the money to the claimant, but up until now, and despite many attempts, we have never been able to speak with the actual parking firm.

Additionally, do we have to let the courts know it is settled? I don't want us to not turn up on the day, thinking it's all sorted, when it's not.

Thanks!

The back of the County Court Claim Form has a prominent box headed How to Pay.

Thank you. That box doesn't explain what, if anything, needs to be done in relation to the hearing date.

Do you know if we need to make the court aware, and if so, how?

I don't trust their solicitors to let the court know they have recieved payment.

You've really come to the wrong place to ask how to pay a private parking company.

The front of your County Court Claim Form has a telephone number for the County Court Business Centre. Try that.

Ask them your latest question too.

Contact their solicitors, a payment to them on behalf of their client is the same as payment to the client
  • As @KeithP says, no one here will advise you to pay a PPC.

Perhaps if you gave us some more details surrounding the issue of the PCN and CCC, we may be able to offer more help.

Which PPC/solicitors? What was the speculative invoice issued for? What did you write in your Defence and have you submitted your WS yet?

Those were my thoughts exactly. I just hope @StevieWuk returns to their thread.

I'd not pay and wait it out. Even if you lose in court it will be less money as the judge will likely knock off the fake Double Recovery fees.

@StevieWuk, if you pay now, you will be paying more than if you were to lose in front of a judge as the current claim will have double recovery fees added. By quitting now, you are doing exactly what these scammers want you to do which is fund their scam so that they can go after even more gullible victims.

As asked above, which PPC and which solicitors are involved? If it is DCB Legal, giving up now makes you a marked "mug" for further scamming in the future

Have a look at this thread where UKPC/DCB Legal give up at the last minute because they know their claims are weak but they hope their victims are gullible enough to fold at the thought of going to "court", where most victims are under the misapprehension where they imagine the Old Bailey and wigs, which it is nothing of the sort.

Here is a video explaining what is likely to happen in a small claim hearing:

@StevieWuk This is now the third thread you have started on this claim which is giving the regulars the runaround not knowing what you have done previously or who is involved!!
