Thank you to everyone for your help.
In some rather excellent news I finally was able to speak to someone on the phone at Waterworld and they agreed to cancel the charge! I did pay a £10 admin fee to cover the cost of the parking (as the payment didn't go through) and an admin fee they said they get charged from 3D Parking but I consider it worth it to get the matter resolved now. They are also going to email me to confirm they have cancelled the charge.
I will add this to the thread of Plan A successes

I think that is a great result and a real burden of complaints makes a landowner think twice about using a PPC.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
