Mobile phone insurance - LOSS

Hi folks,
I recently had my account upgraded (genuinely, for free) by my bank. One of the benefits of this is that I am entitled to free, worldwide mobile phone insurance (via LSG - Lifestyle Group insurance). Apart from a Sony psp (playstation portable - slid out of my pocket in a Rikshaw in India) , i've never lost anything before.
I want to register my phone with this insurance company as the option is available to me for free and because a few months ago i was given a great phone for my b'day.
I was reading some of the small print and needed your help with 2 things:
1. Loss. They say: "we cover loss, theft, accidental damage etc..."
In the small print it says:
Following exclusios and limitations apply:
"theft or loss of your phone and accessories where they have been left accidently or deliberately in a public place or place to which other people have access to"
My question is, how do you "lose" something and still be insured for it? Sounds like a con to me. for example, if that psp was instead a phone - would it be covered?
2nd point. They only cover phones for a value of upto £350. My phone was bought for £400. I really like it and don't want to replace it but, god forbid, it is loss/stolen/damaged and they have to replace it.
Will it be a like for like replacement?
Thank you
Wishing all the money savers a Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year

They may explain i better and you are always best to ask the insurer these questions as they will give you THEIR meaning of it so speak to you contents insurer and make sure you have cover away from the home. Also speak to the insurer your bank are using for their meaning of the cover.end the tv tax0

Hi,
I have just sent my phone off for a claim through LSG. I accidently put it through my washing machine and they have accepted my claim. You just give them the details and they do a check to see if you have been accepted, if so then you pay £25 for a first claim (as most insurance companies do). Its worth while, they are genuine and they were most helpful with my claim.
