Recommendation for Business Broadband with WiFi in every room

Would anyone recommend a (preferably business) broadband service provider which offers a descent kit to provide WiFi in all rooms and more importantly what kit they use so I can read up reviews and specs. An example postcode RG27 0FP and pick any door number.

Its a residential build, 4-5 rooms over 3 floors mostly studwork. There are no ethernet cables in the building hence the reliance on WiFi. In past I have tried powerline adapters but its a bit unreliable. Just need a decent WIFI repeaters or whatever solution are available out there these days.

Also open to residential broadband if that offers better what I need.

    How many rooms? 1? 5? 100?

What size of building? 50m2, 50,000m2?

What is internal walls? Studwork? 1m thick stone walls?

How many concurrent connections (inc printers, smart devices etc)?

    How many networks running?

For business solutions I'd be looking at my own wifi kit that best suits my buildings and then having free choice of ISPs rather than trying to chose the best free ISP router and accepting the terrible service that comes with it

The reason I prefer business broadband is due to SLA and some sort of backup in case service is down, otherwise residential broadband would also work.

A decent mesh network would solve your problem but, of course, it is an extra bit of kit. You can position units on every floor if necessary to give blanket coverage.

Correct and I'm here for recommendations for that

Recently my town suffered an internet outage due to roadworks that cut through a conduit providing services for a couple of broadband providers. Both residential and business customers suffered from exactly the same outage for exactly the same amount of time.

A few weeks ago Virign media had a major outage - again business and residential were equally affected - it all goes down the same wires so you are not buying resilience with a business broadband connection.

If you really want some resilience, invest your money in a dual connection with two different infrastructures, ie don't get two open reach providers - get one Openreach and then an alt / virgin / mobile connection as your backup.

In terms of wifi - don't buy into an ISP mesh solution, they will charge a monthly fee which will work out more than the cost of the hardware after about 12 months so it is a waste of money.

Buying your own hardware is by far the cheaper and better quality long-term solution.

Agree, and hence business broadband packages will include a 4G backup router + connection for outages.

In regards to a mesh WIFI I think you're right, there are specialised systems available out there from netgear etc however the ones offered by ISPs are more basic versions
  • A&A can do you a broadband connection with 4G backup on their Office product (expensive), and can supply multiple access point wifi separately.

I use their Home product with some legacy things they no longer offer carried over as I've been a customer 20 years (you can infer I'm happy with the service and happy paying more than the expert moneysavers here could countenance for it), but I don't do wifi so can't comment on that.

I know some of the Virgin Media business products claim to offer 4G backup, but the one time we needed it at work it didn't work at all.

sure thanks, have gone with sky business broadband which includes a 4G backup router, and will purchase a mesh wifi system from the market.
