Contract

Hi I am after advice, my mum’s mobile contract was up with o2, and she received a call from aerial direct who have put her on a small business contract for 2 years..she is an elderly lady in her mid seventies. She doesn’t really understand why..is there any way to cancel the contract without here being majorly out of pocket? She is about 2/3 months in..
I have contacted the company but as yet have had no response.
please give me some help or advice

Never say yes to anything on the phone especially if you were not expecting the call in the first place, and this is why.

Why has it taken you/her two or three months to notice?
  • I only found out yesterday when my mum had some questions regarding emails

Your Mum should/could have a good case to raise a complaint having been sold a business contract which is probably unsuitable. Aerial are registered with FOS (www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/) who have a complaints process if Aerial fail to offer a suitable solution.

Unless you have a suitable power of attorney, your mum will have to be the one making the contact, but you can obviously help behind the scenes

This is very odd. They are a large, award winning, well known communications and IT company that normally deal with medium and large businesses.
