I'm up, made my bed, had breakfast and a brew, got dressed,  fed the birds, put out the rubbish and recycling,  put new bin bags in bins, sorted washing into loads and set WM swishing with first load.

Now I'm having a coffee. Feel free to pull up a chair and join me.

Fish cake sandwiches have been eaten for lunch (I'm being mse - fish cakes are much cheaper than fish fingers and nearly as good 😋)

Ooh, a parrot would be fun, Valli!  Here is one of my aunts giving their family pet Jackie (an Indian grey) a shower in about 1920:  The cage never housed another parrot after Jackie died, but I can remember seeing it empty - not even a feather - in my grandmother's loft in the late 1950s.  Decluttering in there would have been exciting!  

So far today I have
- woken up at silly o'clock and started on the cane toad early
- eaten a small breakfast
- tracked down various tax certificates
- made phonecalls to ask for the outstanding certificates
- done some filing
- prepped, chopped, blanched and frozen a head of spring cabbage that DH won in the raffle earlier this week
- worked out what's for lunch and tea, using up almost everything that's in the fridge 
- got the suitcases out of the eaves loft (we're going away for a few days)
- done and hung out WMx2 of 4
- cleared the ironing pile (only 5 pillowcases)
and there's still plenty more on my list!

The cane toad will be under control by the end of the day, though it won't be finally dispatched until all the certificates arrive in the post within the next fortnight.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and manages to get some well-earned rest xxx

Oh boy, do I ache. 2 bags of weeds and 1/2 a potato plot dug. In warm sunshine. Which has promptly disappeared now.
Sorry that I missed the coffee morning, but I’m about to put the kettle on again if anyone is lurking around looking for something to do.
Oooohh, wm is on. Look at me fly 😊

Had Covid 🥲

house is a mess and next week I’ll have 4 days to catch up and prep for weekend away 😱 I’m out of practice for packing and 5 of us plus dog is a lot of stuff but to hear hubby talk it will all fit in 1 carrier bag 🤷‍♀️

this cold has come back to bite me sur la derrière.  throat burning, stomach aching from coughing still.

so tonight’s planned outing has not happened.

GWS vibes to Covid/cold/fatigue/stress sufferers xxx

Cane toad is under control, and I can see the floor and bed in the study bedroom again
Food eaten/frozen and fridges cleared
Rosie has taken her worming tablet with a large piece of chicken, with far less complaining than usual!
Clean washing dried outside and is now hanging on airers
Various entrance and ferry tickets have been booked

Bed calls.  Hope everyone has a peaceful night xxx

Good morning all,
GWS vibes to Valli and CCL, and anyone else who is quietly suffering.
Have a lovely trip away, Iona x
DH came back from a morning running his errands in big town. With a large gash all down the side of the car, and what looks like a hole in one door. He had driven into a post, luckily no one else involved, no uninsured driver like last time. Just one huge numpty who should have seen the darn post. I am furious, and he knows it. Not only because the car is due to go back soon, but because his insurance company are so useless that this repair will take forever, take all his attention, and more than likely jeopardise our trip away in a few weeks. Hmmm, sounds familiar, groundhog day to last year. Even more annoying is that his stupidity will yet again put my and DD’s insurance premium up. DH has retreated to the spare room / office. He is actually very low, as we do seem to lurch from one thing to another, never get on that elusive even keel. This time, it is only a car, I know.
So, cuppa had, need another one if anyone is around to put the kettle on. Then the allotment calls before the threatened rain puts in an appearance.
I hope everyone is ok, especially our MIA flyladies - YL, Narc0, ASB? x

I'm up, made my bed, had a brew, and caught up with threads, FB, Worldle and Wordle. You know, all the important stuff 😉

A second brew and breakfast next. Then I'll get dressed.
