It worked on my Android 10, not on my wife's Android 11 though!
how did you turn it off on Android 10
I didn't turn it off. If I wanted to it would be settings>Apps and notifications>advanced>wireless emergency alerts.

Why is everybody fixated on turning off a warning that could save your life.So far it has been activated once as a test.
What is the excuse you will give if. having turned it off,ait ctually sounds in a genuine emergency - you miss it and someone is killed or injured dues to your actkions?
During the war when the sirens sounded then people took shelter - often there were no bombs dropped anywhere near - ipeople may not have wanted to be disturbed but at least tjey did not moan.
For the last couple of hours I have kept heraring warning sirens from Syngenta Chemical works - am I complaining? Not at all I know it is a test being conducted. If it goes off in a genuine emergency and you ignore it who is at fault - not Syngenta but your ;oved ones could be injured or killed because you don't want to be disturbed from your browsing on your phone.

Some people would prefer not to have the notification, I don't think everyone is fixated.

Only people with the appropriate phones who happen to have them with them at the time of an alert will be notified.

Given that the test wasn't wholly successful wonder if they will have another one in the near future?

So, basically the whole discussion is a waste of time as is all the 'concern'. Surely people have wholly more important things to do than tinker around with something they obviously consider to be a nonsense.
Then there are those who think shouting loudly about turning it off gives them some sort of kudos.....
