I parked in a car park managed by euro car park in Salford. I paid by contactless for 2 hours £4.50 and stayed for 58mins. Ticket was displayed in my window. However. The registration only has two letters of my reg on the ticket. Which match my car.
I am in the process of appealing this.
There Cameras ofc state. Haven’t paid as the reg didn’t match as it only had two letters on ticket. They’ve said it’s ‘ a major key error ‘ as only part of the registration was inserted ( despite being the correct partial ).
They’ve given evidence to state the machine was working and others all inputted their full VRN. They also still keep saying I haven’t paid despite showing a bank transfer and the ticket.
All images they submitted are from 2022 of their signage and they’ve added kn the contract about the land too. The incident took place in 2023 and the signs do still match what they submitted
am I right to appeal there signage or evidence as it’s before the claim
date? ( despite it being the same )
in addition - a ‘ key error ‘ surely is when a key is entered incorrect. Hence an error. It’s can’t be incorrect if it’s not inserted ? So therefore it isn’t incorrect as my partial
reg matched the ticket.

If they’re expecting me to pay the £100 then surely they be refunding me the £4.50 as I have paid and proved this. As otherwise I could have parked there. Not paid and still had to pay £100.
Anyway. I have 6 days to give my
reponse to them in regards to not
meeting there terms and conditions inserting the full VRN as it’s. Major
key area. Therefore they deemed me as not paying as the car reg doesn’t have a payment against it. They state terms of car park is clearly displayed but it’s actually only displayed upon entry to the car park no also pointed out I am disabled and dyslexic to which they said it’s the drivers d it y to follow and abide by signs
advise welcome. It’s for barrowness Salford however it’s spelt.

The Newbies/FAQ thread near the top of the forum advises what to do. Have a search of other similar cases. The POPLA thread, also at the top of the forum will give you an idea of how they assess claims.
In your initial appeal, did you give away the identity of the driver as you have done here? "I parked..." instead of "the driver parked...". "Driver" and "Registered Keeper" are two separate entities in law and whether the PCN was PoFA compliant will affect how to approach any appeal of future claim.
Have you started Plan A yet? (Contact the landowner/retailer and get them to cancel the PCN)
Plan B: Appeal to the PPC
Plan C: If plans A & B fail, appeal to whichever "independent" (not) appeals service.
PlanWait for a court claim and get a really independent arbiter to decide.
As I said, Newbies/FAQ refers.1 -
Plan A is always a complain to the landowner and your MP.
Are you still at the first appeal stage, or have you appealed already and been given a PoPLA code to make a second stage appeal?
If you are at the initial appeal stage, and a landowner cancellation is not forthcoming, then appeal using the template in blue text that you find in the sticky announcement for NEWBIES.
The NEWBIES can be found near the top of the main forum page, near where you clicked on the Create Post button.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks2 -
I appealed to carpark. They offered me £20’ for admin fee or to take it further and direct to POPLA. I submitted my evidence of payments to them. And write a letter reasons against it. ( found a template on here as reasons why I disagree ). ECP replied. I now have 6 days to reply upto 1000 characters to their counter arguement thing. And the. pOPla will give an outcome.0

Is this a site where there is a retailer or managing agent you can complain to?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
