Virgin Media vs EE

Options
Hello all

i been always a VM customer since blueyonder times, yep 20 years ago joined them and never left them but this may change lol

Moving to a new place where they seem to have service nearby but not near my property. Seems like they are refusing to invest into laying up a cable and all that … I did sign up for the M350 Full Fibrr Optic (FTTP) and they claim to have upload speed average 36Mbps etc. for £27 - 18months.

I also noticed that EE does have SUPER FIBER (FFTP) in my new area and offering Full Fiber Max 500Mbps. Unsure of its upload speed however. They currently have an offer for 30quid for 24months, not bad.

currently debating with myself if it’s worth going with EE as 1) is higher download speed 2) not a bad price 3) 2 year contract

worrying only if it’s not reliable and may not be as great as promoted. Will it hold the speed they advertise?

Anybody here with EE on FullFibre 500 Max? If so, whats your experience, any negative experience or things to be aware of? Does the router uphold the download & upload speeds? Is anybody using this service for gaming etc?

would appreciate your feedback and honest advise.

    Thanks for the links!
I rather like some real scenarios or replies from users on here who currently are with EE on the FullFibre Max 500 and can share the experience.

Besdies that trustpilot talks about EE in general and could be about slow speed that EE provides.

nowhere on there does discuss the EE FullFibre Max 500 product!!!

EE use Openreach FTTP to offer 500Mb speeds , although there may be some small differences between providers that use Openreach, like the quality of the router , differences in the backhaul provider etc, the fundamental network to your address and the ISP are going to be similar, so  any ISP using OR will give a reasonable indication of the likely performance.

Waiting for an EE customer on exactly the package you want to reply here may take quite a while ,( EE were not one of the original OR FTTP ISP’s ) however the general consensus, especially for gamers , is that FTTP is preferable to ‘cable’ anyway.

    thanks.
just trying to establish if the FFTP 500 over FTTP 350 is making any huge difference. I suppose the upload speed matters?
