EE Broadband - inlaws

Options
The inlaws have asked me to look at their outgoings and i can see they are paying EE £42 per month for standard broadband - eeek!

They won't want to change providers or be without Broadband - what's the best way to get a cheaper deal with EE please?

Yes, they are out of contract. They have been with EE for years - their router must be 10 years old :(

If staying with the same provider is necessary, then research the rest of the market to get a feel for market prices, and phone them up (ideally speaking to their retentions department) and negotiate. For example, the higher tier FTTC product (from Openreach) is usually around mid £20s before cashback and other offers.

You don't say exactly what product they are on, but EE will be providing their service through Openreach, and many other providers will also sell these same services - switching between them is usually easy and straightforward. This is where the best deals will come from, because you can stack cashback and other offers.

Check MSE for the cheapest deal, get them to call and speak to retentions.

We pay £21.25 for the same package as they're on presumably by doing this. We do have 2 business lines linked to the same e-mail address though, although they're SIM only, but yes I do lay that on a bit more thickly than should be the case when we call every few years to renegotiate it, same with the mobile negotiations every few years.

They will need to rinse and repeat this every few years.
