Tip, put your phone in your pants pocket with the screen facing outwards to avoid that happening.
I don't have pockets in my pants - did you mean trousers? No, I'm English and live in England - we wear pants.*What goes underneath are called underpants. (or knickers if you are female). We only call pants 'trousers' if we are being posh (pretentious) or shopping for new pants.*Yes I do know that it's adopted from the French 'Pantalon' and even further back to Italian.

Ditto. I wear pants underneath my trousers, not knickers. Don’t know anyone British who calls trousers pants. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.4 -
Englishman in England here too and I’ve always worn pants under my trousers. I’ve never heard any English person call trousers ‘pants’ either and I’m certainly not posh.2

I guess it's a regional thing then, I'm originally from Bolton and now live in Cumbria.Everyone I know wears pants, unless they have their jeans or shorts on (plus the ocassional kilt, we aren't that far from the border).
