It isn't building society any more, Kent Reliance is part of OSB Bank. Yes, it's fine, don't worry about it. OSB is listed on the LSE so you can look it up and find its annual reports.

It is covered by the FSCS £85K compensation, in case of problems.

Safe to bank with, but terrible to deal with.
    Avoid at all costs.
I’ve had isa, fixed and easy access accounts with them.
Took forever to move my isa in, 16 weeks.
Kept saying it’s the other bank’s fault etc. was there’s.
Lots of compensation in the end. Could not leave them fast enough when accounts matured.

    That's interesting
I think I will give them a miss too
I don't have any skin in the game so can't comment from experience (and am not doubting what's said above) but if you're hoping to find a financial institution that everyone praises universally then prepare for a long search....

Late last year I opened a fixed rate bond with it and I've had no problems. If it's offering a rate you like then I wouldn't have any reservations.

I’ve experienced no issues with them. We’ve had three accounts with them for a year or two. Just transferred one of them, a cash ISA, to another provider - took three working days to complete and it was a paper transfer not online.

They are safe but as others have said they are dreadful to deal with and their systems, including IT are antiquated.

I've had various accounts - bonds / ISAs / Regular Savers with them. Never had any problems either in the bank or on the phone. I have always found the staff very friendly and very helpful.
DH's family have all had various accounts with the for years.
