    Ah, Barclays had their own system which is ending.
    But I think they are switching it to google pay.
    I've not had a magnetic strip on my chip and pin cards for years, does any bank still use magnetic strips?

    Are you sure, all MasterCard, Visa and Amex cards still have them, MC have said they will start phasing them out in a couple of years

    Interesting,
    I just double checked and my current one (Visa debit card) does have a magnetic strip, but my previous card which was still still in my wallet doesn't have one just the gold chip-&-pin contacts.
    Same bank account too, maybe they were running a trial to see if anyone missed it?
    (I should probably have shredded that old one anyway, I'll turn the shredder on in a minute).
