Phone case & debit card

The issue is that my debit card has failed for a second time (card replaced some months ago). It won’t work in an ATM, but still works as contactless.
Today the contactless was ‘not approved’ so went to use chip & pin, first time it failed, so took it out rubbed it and thankfully it worked 🤔
I keep it in a phone case ‘wallet’ which has a two magnets fastener.
My question is has anyone else had this problem?

Apologies if in the wrong forum but this was my best guess.

Shouldn’t make a difference, my card lives in my phone case, but the nfc on the card doesn’t appear to be affected , however the mag strip on the card will probably will be, but I can’t remember the last time I had to use the swipe on my card. The little “chip” on the front of my card often gets gunged up, a quick wipe and I am good to go.4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Set your phone up to make contactless payments and then you can leave the card at home unless you need to use it in an ATM.

The problem is with using an ATM & a chip n pin m/c when contactless needs approval. So putting the cards into the phone wallet or whatever doesn’t solve the problem.
My query was whether the magnetic strip on a card is / can be affected by a phone case magnet? As this seems to be the situation.
Looks like the solution will be a different phone case.

Someone would have to test it as the strip hasn't been used for years in the UK. So, I doubt it matters one way or the other, unless of course you live in that backwater the US...
My wife keeps her cards in a similar wallet and has no problems with the chip and pin or contactless on the rare occasions she uses the actual card.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

You don't need to do the contactless approval that cards require occasionally when you use your phone / watch and can also get cash from ATMs from most banks contactless or though the bank app and a 6 digit code.
I've not taken a bank card out of the house for years, I've paid for everything from 18p tram tickets in Turkey to many £ thousands with Apple Pay on my watch or phone without ever wishing I had my wallet / cards.2
