Vodafone rejecting applications for social tariff

Sorry to drag this from the depths, but I thought it might help anyone trying to get this from Voda!My mate applied in the second week of Jan, and heard nothing. No one on the front line at Voda was interested in helping, one agent even said that Voda didn't offer this deal!!!Well, yesterday, so EIGHT WEEKS later he gets a call from Voda saying 'Lets get you connected'!The Voda agent was totally unaware of how long it had been and seemed surprised that my mate had already signed up with another supplier. He had idea why it took so long to get back to him and was clueless as why their email said someone would contact the customer in 5 working days. Which, I guess, highlights the lack of any customer service that Voda offer! So, to anyone thinking of applying for this, don't expect to hear anything soon and forget the '5 days' they tell you it's going to be in the email.2

I have been trying to renew my social tariff contract with Vodafone for over a month now to no avail. I have just spent an hour on the phone to someone who did not seem to understand what I was even talking about. he finished up by telling me I had to re-apply, and that he would text me a link. he then hung up, and i have received nothing else since.0

So it seems the slower £12 social tariff has gone and replaced by £20 faster speed social tariff from whats on that link, I had i email about increasing prices then a couple of days ago another saying social tariff not going up mid contractBut my understanding was you had to reapply after 12 months if still eligible0

Yep, I applied around 2 years ago and it was £12. Seems like its a "social tariff" in name only at the current price of £20 but I suppose it's to be expected in a cost of living crisis for capitalist companies (and the £3 billion they scammed out of tax they should have paid a couple of years ago must have run out for the fat cats).0
