    Standard pallets are 120cm max.
    6ft = 173cm

  • The issue of pallet sizes is addressed in the comments on that page. Basically, there are some non-standard pallets that are really big, e.g. those used for shipping plasterboard, so keep a look out for them.

    If you are that good at DIY, buy 8 pressure-treated 1.8m decking boards in Wickes for £56 in total and make a really good gate very cheap.

    Good job she fitted the new gate on to the old metal one, as the bracing is the wrong way around. :neutral:

    I have been looking for a made to measure back gate recently. There seem to be a few suppliers on ebay that provide sub £200 made to measure gates. I have not purchased yet so cannot comment on quality but I am close to buying one

    Needed w fairly wide gate myself to fill a 1400mm gap. Purchased a pair of wrought iron gates from ebay, bolted them together (after cutting the hinges off one). Cost me about £140 for the pair.

    Well we have someone who makes gates to size for under £200 if they are just wooden ones and a good craftsman too......so if you live in Somerset..........
    And 5miles from that a tiny forge - wrought iron hand forged (including Kensington Palace) which are somewhat more expensive.
    Oh I wish!

    Hi again, we have gone with a chap who quoted £485 which includes some turfing we also wanted doing. So I feel I was right to turn down the previous £575 quoted for just the gate!
