Ma in law is 94, uses basic mobile. Of late she says she's not getting our texts. Have to admit I've changed from using the app Messages to Messages, two different platforms. The icons explain. Which should I be using to guarantee she receives our texts

You've removed the app icon from the home screen, you haven't uninstalled it.

yes but I thougt that is what the OP wanted to do ie not have two messaging icons on the home screen
