And how do you know this?MorningcoffeeIV said:Yes, that's fine, as he already gave his permission, assuming the amount being sought is correct.
Generally, the only permission he gives is to charge some certain amount, not ambiguous 'correct'.2 -
Precisely. There was an agreement to pay a certain amount.grumbler said:

The usage of 'correct' means adherence to the agreed sum. Not a completely different figure .

Any accommodation will have a clause, that allows them to bill for damage or other charges. Just like car hire.
So OP needs to contact co & find out exactly what this charge is for. If they disagree, then a chargeback (once payment has debited) could be possible. But expect it to be contested.Life in the slow lane0 -

Is the original agreement of the fee documented in writing/email?you123l said:
The agreed fee was a lot lower than what they are now saying he should have paid. Its not a big hotel chain, rather a small private let company, dealing with short term let's.0 -
The company says he was undercharged. No charges for damages or anything like that. They just simply charged him less than they are now saying they should have.born_again said:grumbler said:

Maybe check the original confirmation from the hotel. Email?0

Hi Op,
In your situation I would do the following.
If this is a company approved hotel, I would report this to your husbands company and ask them for assistance in handling this.
if it’s not a company approved hotel then:
If you still have the booking confirmation showing the rate that was agreed is the amount your husband paid, I would send that to the hotel, and ask them to refund the second amount they have taken within 14 days or you will raise a dispute with your card company.
If you don’t still have the booking confirmation ask the hotel to provide proof that your husband agreed to the higher rate they are now trying to charge you within 14 days, and tell them if they can’t provide it, they need to refund the second amount or you will raise a dispute with your card company.
They can’t just change the price 4 months after the stay and just charge your card. Also if anyone else from your husbands work place uses this hotel I would warn them of the issue you are having.0 -
Thank you. We've managed to sort it. They have admitted there was an error on their side and refunded the second charge. I guess I'm just a little concerned that they were able to charge the card without informing us first. I don't like the idea of his card details sitting there for them to have access to.Debbie9009 said:Hi Op,
