Virgin Money App crashes

Hi,
I have the Virgin Money App on my mobile. Over the last few months I have found that I am unable to 'Make a Payment' using the app as it crashes every time I try to select a recipient. It never used to do it (and certainly didn't crash when it was the Yorkshire Bank App!) Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so, managed to resolve it? I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S6 phone with Android V7.0 (and the latest downloaded Virgin Money App).
I've contacted Virgin Money and explained the problem but only had a 'lukewarm' response suggesting my mobile is possibly outdated despite the website stating that the App will work with Android 5.0!
At present, I am having to use online banking (not overly convenient) to make payments.
Any help/advice appreciated.
Thanks,
Tony

Their apps seem to be very poorly written. I have their credit card app and it's always saying it can't log me in and I need to phone them, restarting the phone sorts it out. It's been like that for the last few years on three different up to date phones.

I had some issues with the credit card app last year and I found installing and reinstalling fixed the issues.

You are not imagining it, the Virgin Money apps are crap. Well, the credit card one is anyway, be lucky you can use the online banking for the current account.

Us poor old credit card folk don't have that 'luxury' any more as they ditched it so it is app only.

Five weeks ago I used the Virgin CC app to change the bank I want to use for paying the balance by Direct Debit.
When checking whether it has been set up I just get a message say "we're setting up your Direct Debit. and will let you know when it's complete" or words to that effect. Two weeks ago I emailed them to ask what was taking so long and have not had an answer yet.

    They really are crap.
  • Same problem, just swapped to a new phone not just because but hoping it would be back to normal but no joy. Anyone that has solved it i'd appreciate knowing how ? Tried the chat on Virgin, no good

Relative has both on line access to Virgin Bank account/ISA and the credit card app.

He reports that online works fine but that he has had to re-install the CC app on at least one occasion.

following the advice of  Elcabo & xylophone above I've deleted the app from my phone, switched off my phone waited
5 minutes, switched on my phone and re-installed the app.
When going through the re-intstall process it was tellimg me the card was linked to another device. ( I have never linked the card to another device ) and that link would no longer work.

I am still getting the message telling me they are setting up the Direct debit.

I checked with the account which the Direct debit is to be taken from and Virgin CC appears in the list.

    What rubbish Virgin Money are.

The Virgin Money apps are usually functional, although if they bug the best way to fix it is to delete and reinstall. For me, this usually does the trick.

If it's telling you with the credit card app that it's linked to another device, just call Virgin Money and ask them to delete all other devices linked to the credit card. Hopefully, that should sort out the issue.

I have deleted and reinstalled the app as I stated in my post this morning
    .
It told me this while I was re installing the app.  It stated that linking the card to my phone would break any existing link with any other device. (I have never linked my card to anyother device)
