PCP on vehicle

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're facing with your Jaguar F Pace. It sounds like a stressful situation.
Firstly, if your car is still under warranty, you may be able to get the repairs covered by the warranty. If it's not covered under warranty, you may want to consider taking the car to an independent mechanic for a second opinion and quote for the repairs. It's possible that the original garage's quote is higher than necessary.
You may also want to consider speaking to a legal professional to understand your legal rights in this situation. In the UK, the Consumer Rights Act provides protection for consumers in situations where goods are faulty or not fit for purpose. You may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund from the dealer, depending on the circumstances.
It's important to keep a record of all communication with the dealership and Jaguar finance, including phone calls and emails. This can be useful if you need to escalate the issue.
I hope this information helps, and I wish you the best of luck in resolving this issue.

Alderbank said:The facts given so far suggest a 2017 model.
Crankshaft failure is a common fault on the 3 litre engine. Not economic to repair, usually needs a new engine.
Sudden timing chain failure is common on early 2 litre models, due to a design fault. This is now remedied for cars made late 2019 onwards. Jaguar might be persuaded to fix this, or at least to contribute towards the cost.
This is not a new car and OP has owned it far over 6 months. It is therefore on them in law to prove there was a defect when they bought the car. I fear that will be next to impossible to do. Neither engine mentioned here was subject to any recalls, at least during my ownership of them. (For the avoidance of doubt both had warranty work but I am a perfectionist with any car).💙💛 💔0 -
A perfect demonstration why the advice to avoid PCP on a used vehicle which is well out of manufacturers warranty is sound, even more so on a 'luxury' vehicle brand with a less than perfect record for reliability.
Any faults during the PCP rental period and its down to the hirer to have them fixed to ensure the vehicle is in good condition should it be handed back at the end of the hire period.0 -
Jaguar give 3 year warranty as standard, let them deal with it.0
