Mazda 6 recall

My 64 plate Mazda 6 2.2 sky active estate has just been to Mazda Warrington where they diagnosed a vacuum pump fault . I researched the web and found a Mazda recall on this part ( Issued in 2018- recall number R/2018/236 effecting my exact vehicle) .
The dealer was adamant no current recalls were listed for my car and refused it. After insisting they spoke to Mazda they came back and stated the part would be supplied for free but I had to pay labour charges . The service manager stated it was a goodwill gesture . Thoughts appreciated on this issue. Thanks

Is this listed as a Safety Recall? If so then legally it is Free of Charge.

How long have you had the Mazda?

I’m not sure it’s a safety recall however I understand the fault effects braking ability. I’ve had the car nearly two yrs .0

Also , I’ve checked the gov.uk web site for recalls and it says none exist currently for my vehicle. That’s my issue - there is a recall number for the Mazda fault issued in 2018 which lists Mazda vins effected . My vehicle is one of these. I understand recalls don’t expire ?0

Ifr it effects braking then it is a safety iyem. You need to contact Mazda.

So you didn't own the car in 2018 when the recall was issued.
Could the previous owner have had the work done under the recall? Hence the garage saying there is no outstanding racall for your car

Mazda are usually very good with safety recalls
My old 323F, N registration had a safety recall in 2016, for a replacement ignition switch, work was completley free of charge
Apparently some grease / lubricant dried out in the switch and in certain circumstances smoke could be emmitted, never heard of an actual fire
