You may also want to tell her that by paying this, she will then be marked as a "mug" for future reference by these scammers. Paying them would make her a part of the problem as funding this scam is exactly what they want. Gullible victims who poop their pants at the merest hint of a court claim or CCJ. This is their bread and butter... scaring mugs into funding their scam.

Thank you for your help - we have received notification that our appeal was successful and the charge will be cancelled.

The fine was as a result of a failed attempt to make payment on the Ringo App when parked at the railway station car park.  I'm not sure which part of the appeal letter stuck, we threw everything at them including evidence from Ringo themselves.  If it helps, I am happy to add the letter here but appreciate you have a system in place and don't want to muddy the waters.
