I use a car park that is monitored by Euro Parks using ANPR, I have usually paid via the phone app ( you can also tap in your reg into a machine in the pub ).
I was told a few months back that the church ( which also uses the car park and doesn't have a machine ) allows you to park for two hours free - there is nothing on the signage to say this is the case.
I've done this a few times now and have not had anything through the post.
I know they have 6 years to take to court - but how long do they have to actually issue a PCN?
I'm a bit worried that I may get a shedload of PCN's at some point!

Seven months if memory serves correctly. This is the latest they are permitted by the DVLA to obtain keeper data.
I suggest you obtain proof in writing from the church that users are permitted to park for free for up to two hours.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

I would assume that if it does not say "the church allows you to park for two hours free" on the signage that you are playing with fire hearsay is a dangerous thing. What it says on the signs is what the scammers will use against you, all the other info you need is in the newbies thread.

Are you sure the address on your car logbook is up to date? No PCNs going to an old DVLA car reg address behind your back?DE_612183 said:I use a car park that is monitored by Euro Parks using ANPR, I have usually paid via the phone app ( you can also tap in your reg into a machine in the pub ).

Quite correct - but the church goers have been around a while and none of them have had any comeback - I understand what you are saying that they could start issuing at any time - but how long after the event are they allowed to issue? I thought there was something about 28days?fisherjim said:I would assume that if it does not say "the church allows you to park for two hours free" on the signage that you are playing with fire hearsay is a dangerous thing. What it says on the signs is what the scammers will use against you, all the other info you need is in the newbies thread.0 -

The DVLA allows them up to six months following the parking event to get the keeper's details from them.DE_612183 said:I know they have 6 years to take to court - but how long do they have to actually issue a PCN?
Their trade association allows them another month to send a Notice to Keeper to the keeper.
So the answer to your question is seven months, but is anyone policing that?4 -
yes, that was my other question - if I sell the car, obviously the log book will change - do the scammers get the info about the v5 of when the offence took place?Coupon-mad said:

Probably not - but if I get a PCN dated 13/04/2023 for an offence dated 01/05/2022 - I can just send it back and say "Too Late"!KeithP said:

You can certainly tell them that they are 'too late' to hold the keeper liable for anything that a driver may have done.
That will probably not stop them assuming that the keeper was the driver.
You could also complain to their trade association that they have broken the association's rules, but that would be a waste of time.2 -
Yep 'KADOE' (the DVLA method of selling our data for pennies to scammers) stands for:
Keeper At Date of Event.
Are you certain your logbook was updated or haven't you moved since buying the car?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
