Yes, preferably it has to be like that.Do I understand correctly that you fitted the EU plug into the adaptor and then then traced the central contact to the L pin of the UK plug/adaptor and the side contact to the N pin of the UK plug?

Have you drilled the hole yet, Ben? If not, are you sure you wouldn't want to make it a much smaller one by cutting off the existing 2-pronger, and replacing it with a UK 3-pin plugtop?You'll likely find that the wires under the outer sleeving will be colour-coded too. Hopefully correctly
